CPS National was contracted to provide a Power Viability Audit Report of remote mobile communications facilities to identify and assess:
- capacity of transformers
- mains and sub-mains cabling
- respective protective devices
- measured loads
- maximum AC power demand of installed equipment
By assessing capacity and calculating demand, CPS National provided recommendations to the three telecommunications providers who all share the one mains supply to the site, connected to the same incoming mains power.
The report identified whether the existing site electrical infrastructure is capable of supporting proposed installation of upgrades – or whether an upgrade of the site infrastructure is necessary. This ensures that the site is adequately dimensioned under Australian Standards and provides peace of mind to the other telco carriers sharing the mains power supply.
