CPS National were recently contracted to undertake upgrade works for an Australian telecommunications provider. CPS National were tasked to provide a solution that would facilitate the customer’s additional power usage requirements for an exchange located within a key business hub in Sydney, NSW.
During the pre-installation phase the team discovered that the suspended floor would be unable to support the weight of the new equipment, requiring them to design and manufacture appropriate underfloor supports before installation commenced. With the underfloor supports in place, the CPS National team proceeded to install a new power distribution unit, new feeds of 300 square metre cables to connect the power plant and new distribution unit, a new earthing system for the distribution unit and alarm cabling to facilitate remote system monitoring.
CPS National completed the project within the customer’s specified time and budgetary requirements. The customer’s additional power requirements were satisfied with the capacity available for future load increases.
